What's it about?
A Thursday night in March, the 24th floor of Vandrell Tower. At 9:00 a.m. the next day the Vandrell Group will present its annual figures, and eight people are still working on the speech, the press release and the slides. At 10:15 p.m. Dr. Konrad Rehberg, CEO for fourteen years, sits dead in his office. Since 8:00 p.m., the elevators have gone up to the 24th floor only with a floor access card.
You play the seven who were on the floor that night: two board members, four department heads and Rehberg's assistant. Every character noticed something, and every one has a reason not to say everything right away. Over three rounds you compare times, routes and documents; nine props come to the table over the course of the evening. Twice the inspector comes back with new findings. At the end everyone names a suspect, and then the sealed solution is opened.
The case is tricky. Solving it means lining up the timestamps and listening closely; nobody has to guess, because the solution can be worked out from the materials. The host plays along, since the host guide contains no solution. With six players one role stays empty, and the guide explains how the evening runs then.
The kit comes as a Print version with one role booklet per character, which you print and fold yourself, and as a Digital version in phone format for sending. Both contain the same case.
The characters

Robin Castell
Head of Investor Relations & Communications
Robin sells the market every number as good news and knows every business journalist by first name. Nobody in the building knows better what a headline costs.

Helena Voss
Chief Financial Officer
For six years Helena has been responsible for the Vandrell Group's numbers. She is precise and impatient, and she thinks she would make the better CEO.

Adrian Keller
General Counsel, Legal & Compliance
Adrian is the lawyer on the executive board and writes the rules everyone in the group is supposed to follow. His manner is courteous; on the substance he does not give way.

Nora Lindqvist
Head of the Executive Office
Nobody gets to Konrad Rehberg without passing Nora's desk. She knows who was with him and when, and she doesn't talk about it.

Samir Haddad
Head of IT Security
Samir sees what happens on the Vandrell Group network and keeps quiet about it, as his job requires. He is thorough and trusts only what can be logged.

Dr. Isabel Thalberg
Head of Group Accounting
Isabel has run Group Accounting at Vandrell Group for eleven years. She works quietly and precisely, and without her no annual closing gets finished.

Felix Brenner
Executive Assistant to the CEO
Felix is the youngest on the floor and has been Rehberg's assistant for a year. He is ambitious and quick, and you can still see his nerves.
